While Lamole is a charming little place in itself, the main reason for a visit is the beautiful drive up, passing by the famous renaissance Villa Vignamaggio and the Castello di Lamole along a road lined by cypresses and offering spectacular views. Lamole itself has a summer music programme and an excellent restaurant with an attached shop selling a wide range of local products and wines, not least Lamole di Lamole Chianti Classico. There is also a restaurant at Castello di Lamole where live vocal and instrumental music is sometimes provided. The Lamole area also offers much very good accommodation, with everything from B&B rooms, through farm house apartments to entire villas. Worth a brief visit. More about Lamole in Chianti.
